Funny how things pop up in life. I’ve been reading about liver and gallbladder cleanses. Recently Alison at wholesome goodness did one and I requested details on hers. I’m very skeptical and yet very fascinated at the prospect of a natural way to relieve oneself of stones. Those stones which could cause so many problems resulting in emergency surgery or painful attacks.
One of my parents had emergency surgery this week to remove the gallbladder due to sudden inflammation following days of unresolved stomach pain. Last year DH’s aunt had her gallbladder removed as well. Funny thing is, the stones can keep coming even after the organ is gone. The surgery doesn’t make much sense to me. It seems a diet change is probably in order for these things.
Alas, DH and I are going to go on vacation and eat and drink and be merry for the next several weeks. However, upon my return, I’m contemplating a cleanse of my own. I’ll certainly build plenty up in the next few weeks…
In the meantime I’m continuing my search for a cleanse. If you’re interested in the results (and process in previous posts she has written on the site) of a real live person who did one check out Alison’s site here http://wholesomegoodness.net/2008/10/28/livergallbladder-flush-results/ and I’ll let you know if I buy the groceries to go through with one myself.
